What application is the
Honeywell Wind Turbine best suited for?
The Honeywell Wind Turbine (Honeywell Wind Turbine) is designed for residential, small business and commercial applications, generating energy where we consume it, even in low wind speeds.
What happens in high winds?
All functions of the HTW are controlled by a computerized Smart Box connected to an anemometer, constantly reading wind speed and direction. The Honeywell Wind Turbine Smart Box interacts with the turbine’s motor, optimizing the turbines’ positioning, maximizing wind capture (up to 42mph) and turning into the wind, when exceeding 42mph. The Honeywell Wind Turbine is certified to industry safety and electrical standards.
What is the composition of the turbine? What is its rating?
Our turbine is rated for gusts of wind up to 90 mph. It is primarily made out of UV resistant nylon and anodized aluminum to withstand a variety of elements.
What happens to the wind turbine in ice and snow?
The Honeywell Wind Turbine is designed to handle the elements. Freezing rain will certainly slow the unit down and could keep the unit out of service until it thaws. The Honeywell Wind Turbine was developed with maintenance in mind. With far fewer moving parts than traditional turbines, service and maintenance is greatly reduced. Most parts can be quickly replaced, including the bearings and blades.
The Honeywell wind turbine has been discontinued. We are currently working to offer a brand new wind turbine with better technology and energy output. Check back soon to see out new wind turbines!
Honeywell Wind Turbine Systems in West Michigan

Introducing a breakthrough wind energy system for home and business featuring a revolutionary gearless Blade Tip Power System (BTPS). The Honeywell Wind Turbine is a gearless wind turbine that measures just 6 feet in diameter, weighs 170 lbs and is able to produce 2752 kWh/yr in Class 4 winds representing over 20% percent of an average household’s annual electricity needs.
Gearless Blade Tip Power System – the future of wind power. The Honeywell Wind Turbine utilizes a system of magnets and stators surrounding its outer ring, capturing power at the blade tips where speed is greatest, practically eliminating mechanical resistance and drag. Rather than forcing the available wind to turn a generator, the perimeter power system becomes the generator by swiftly passing the blade tip magnets through the copper coil banks mounted onto the enclosed perimeter frame.
The Blade Tip Power System addresses past constraints such as size, noise, vibration and output. WindTronics’ proprietary systems are breaking traditional technological barriers across multiple markets, for homes and businesses, for both energy generation and energy recapture even in moderate winds. The Honeywell Wind Turbine is the highest output, lowest cost per kWh installed turbine ever made (in class and size). So powerful, so simple.
The Honeywell Wind Turbine is always turning, always generating energy and automatically follows the wind with its directional fins.
OWN YOUR WIND!
We’ve turned wind turbines inside out. According to the National Wind Technology Center, more than 80 percent of the U.S. residential market experience winds of less than 10 mph over 90 percent of the time. Standard gear box turbines require a minimum of 7.5 mph to begin producing energy.
The Honeywell Wind Turbine has an increased operating span over traditional turbines with a start-up speed as low as 0.5 mph, with an auto shut off at 38 mph, traditional gearbox turbines require minimum wind speeds of 7.5 mph to cut in and start generating power.

Redesigning Wind Turbines
Why was it necessary to redesign the wind turbine? With 90% of North America’s actual wind resources below 9 mph on average, it was essential to develop a technology capable of starting-up in wind speeds as low as 0.5 mph and remaining operational through 38 mph. Traditional turbines rarely start turning before 7.5 mph and shutdown by 29 mph to protect their mechanical systems. Learn More About Wind Turbines
